This is truth with God as King: You are forgiven and brought into the Kingdom of the Son He loves (Colossians 1:13-14). You are His child (John 1:12). God’s Kingdom power is within you (Luke 17:21).

How does knowing the presence of God is with you impact how you can address the joys and challenges in your marriage or love life?

It is exciting and empowering to learn to pray, “Lord, you are with me right now. How would you treat my spouse (partner, child, employee, boss, money, emotion...) if you were me?”

Speaking of different rules to live by, a kingdom relationship is in stark contrast to the way we ‘normally’ treat each other. Apply Jesus’ words about anger in Matthew 5:21-26 in a marriage or dating relationship.

Why do you think Jesus addresses anger before lust driven adultery, then divorce?

What is the correlation (or progression)?

Watching Jesus, leads many people to believe He played by different rules. (See His “Sermon on the Mount” in Matthew 5:3-7:6.) Then he says His rules fulfill the long standing laws of God and His prophetic spokesmen.

How do you match these two realities?
